1. Read about Bob Dylan’s life during 1963 and 1964.

3. Listen a sample of Dylan singing the song

4. Interpret/Reflect  on overall feelings evoked by the song.

5. Summarize and write one to two pages on your interpretation of the song Mr. Tambourine Man in terms of Dylan’s life during 1963 and 1964. Visit Wikipedia for guidance on interpreting and reflecting on the song

· Thunder On The Mountain (2006)  (sample)

2. Read about Dylan’s life in the previous two to five years before writing the song

4. Interpret/Reflect on overall feelings evoked by the songs.

5. Summarize and write a one to two page paper on how Bob Dylan’s older adulthood impacted his perceptions, ideas, values and goal as expressed in his “Summer Days” and “Thunder on The Mountain”.

Final Activity

Working individually you will now create an original artwork based on an analysis of one of the themes present in Bob Dylan’s songs.

1. Explore and complete the analysis/critical thinking process using a set of songs (linked below) concerning one of a variety of adult development issues. Use the steps practiced in activities one through three.

2. Once you have completed the analysis of one of the adult development themes (above) Dylan’s songs you will create an original piece of artwork that depicts the adult development theme.  Use your imagination to create one of the following pieces of artwork that depicts the theme that was explored in step one (above).
