You are required to make five (5) postings to a bulletin board that has been established for this class on WebCT. A WebCT account will be set up for you at the beginning of the semester.

Your "User ID" is the VSU user ID. Every student is assigned a VSU email account with an ID. If you do not know yours, you can find it via the VSU webpage [http://www.valdosta.edu]. Select "Finding Your Student Email Account" and follow the instructions.

Your password is your birthdate in mmddyy format. You may change your password the first time you log in; if you do so--it's not required--be sure to write your new password and place it somewhere you can find it.

Two of your messages must be done prior to the midterm and the remaining three must be completed by the13th week of class. In each posting you are to describe an event that occurred in the classroom in which you are doing your field experience or respond to a posting by another student. If you are making an initial posting (i.e., not responding to another post), you should briefly describe the context within which the observation occurred (e.g., grade-level, number of students, subject matter, etc.) without identifying the school, student(s), or teacher(s). You are then to describe the actions of the participants (you could be one of them) in enough detail to present a clear picture of the classroom event. Finally, you will interpret or evaluate the experience in terms of the concepts and principles we have discussed in class. Each posting should be between 100 and 200 words in length. I have selected several examples of appropriate e-mail postings that you may want to review.

You will receive 1 point for each posting meeting the above standard. Messages that are hostile, discourteous, or otherwise unprofessional will not be accepted as meeting the course requirement. You will be informed if you need to redo a message through a private e-mail posting.

You may complete your e-mail assignment in EC 120, on a computer in the library, or in one of the computer rooms in the Education Center, Ashley or Nevins Hall.
