Locating and using published resources is an important component of professional activity in the information/conceptual age.
A major issue in adult education is asking questions and locating resources that address those questions. While there is much to be said for the use of information published on the Internet, there is also a wealth of information in published journals. Fortunately, as a VSU student, you have access to full-text material for a wide variety of high quality journals.
You are to develop a question that you believe is important for an educator of adults. The question could be of a generic nature such as "What is the role of adult educators in developed nations during the first half of the the 21st century?" or very specific such as "How can I best teach clinical techniques to nursing students?" You will then complete a Galileo search and locate an article that is at least 5 pages in length that addresses this question.
You are to write a 2- to 3-page critique of the article you selected. Be sure and include the bibliographical information (i.e., author, date of publication, name of article, journal name, volume and issue number, and page numbers.) Also, include your question that you used to start your search. In your critique, you should summarize the major points made by the author(s) and then discuss the validity of the author's presentation based on research you have read as well as your own experience.
Use Times Roman 12pt font, double space, and 1" margins. Be sure to put your name on your paper.
Send the completed critique as an email attachment to whuitt@valdosta.edu by the due date.
