 This is lesson 3 of 5 in a unit titled All About Groups, Community. In this lesson students will learn why we have rules.  They will work in groups to create rules and come up with fair consequences for breaking the rules.

This is a lesson about how to apply rules in three different environments – community rules, family and culture rules and safety rules.  It gives ideas about books, games, and technology sources that will help in teaching the importance of rules in our lives.

Life Without Rules

Lesson Summary:

In this lesson children realize the necessity for rules by imagining circumstances without rules. They experience classroom life in the absence of a rule and discuss the consequences. After listening to a fictional story about a family living without rules, they discuss the negative impacts on the members of the family and those outside the family. The children predict consequences from life in a classroom without rules.
