This is the second lesson of the Short Story unit of the full sequence for the Ninth Grade Literature and Composition course. Students read two short stories - "Thank You, Ma'm" and "The Ransome of Red Chief" - and examine the ways in which character develops in these stories. They write a character analysis on the character they choose from the stories read.
